How good is good?

We recently demonstrate the capability of InfraRed Diffusion Ordered SpectroscopY (IR-DOSY) to accurately measure diffusion coefficients of small molecules. Three molecular species were analyzed using IR-DOSY, and the diffusion coefficients obtained from IR-DOSY agreed within <10 % of those measured with NMR-DOSY. The results confirm that IR-DOSY can accurately quantify molecular diffusion, providing a compact and accessible alternative to traditional NMR-based methods.
